Hello from the last leg of my month-long, attempted (key word) budget-friendly month of travel. This week started in a French pharmacy and ended on the beach in Tel Aviv. I’ll let you guess which one of those two places took all my money.
Tuesday was a holiday in France and so, because I thought everything would be closed on my last day in Paris, I treated myself to meals out on Sunday and Monday. Then – nothing was closed on Tuesday, and it was my last day in Paris. So I went out again. Sigh.
Traveling on a budget is not easy, and traveling to a place that has so many things you love exclusively is even harder, especially when, as the subject line suggests, my job — aside from. building this newsletter, community and podcast with Rachel — is currently just beach.
This week was a test of my budgeting on this trip and I failed. I’m not in the business of saying bad things about myself anymore so I’ve just decided to accept the truth of the matter, try to do better next time and move on.
